Shake
Move the pad, keep the chord alive
Shake the controller and whatever is ringing keeps ringing. That's the whole gesture: strum a chord, and as it starts to fade, move the pad - the fade holds off for as long as the movement lasts, and the ringing strings swell with it.
Three things it will never do:
- It never starts a note. Shaking a silent instrument does nothing; the shake only feeds strings that are already ringing.
- It never touches pitch. No vibrato, no bends - the chord stays exactly where you played it.
- It doesn't need to be violent. A gentle rock of the pad is enough; the instrument reads the motion, not the drama.
Combined with the strum it turns a chord into a held texture: strike once, keep it alive with motion, and let it die when your hands go still.
The settings
Shake can be switched off, and Shake response sets how much movement it takes to register - below the natural response, small motion stops counting at all. Both live in the Instrument Settings panel and both are licensed; Demo Mode plays the shake at its natural response.
Motion needs a pad with motion sensors - the PlayStation and Switch Pro controllers have them; Xbox controllers don't.
