Chords
Pick a chord, play it, then pick another one and repeat.
Chords is the melodic side of MIDIpad. Your left thumb picks a chord on the stick and your right thumb strums it, either on the touchpad or around the edge of the right stick.
Chords sends on the MIDIpad Chords port, MPE by default. What each string sends, and why, is in How it works.
At a glance
Point at a chord to arm it. Strum to play it.
Strum it, hold it, brighten it
Swipe along the strings to strum, or tap to pluck. Move a finger across them to hold the ringing chord and set its brightness.
The same six strings, around the edge of the stick, on every controller.
Plays the armed chord all at once. One button each for all six strings, the low half, the high half, and the bottom and top strings.
Hold for the dominant chords.
Hold for the parallel chords.
Hold for the suspensions and sevenths.
Pulls the pressure and CC74 down on every ringing string. A full pull ends the notes.
Voices the next strum higher. A shallow pull opens the chord out and a deep pull sends the top up.
Keep it ringing, or shift an octave
Shake the pad to put energy back into the ringing strings. Roll it on its side to shift an octave, once Octave tilt is on.
